Lifepath:

  • Cultural Origin: North American Chinese
  • Personality: Outwardly friendly and outgoing, but it’s all for show; the chrome to distract observers. He’s mostly aloof and detached, analytical.
  • Dress & Style: Always dressed down, worn and faded, patched and threadbare when he leaves the pad. Except for serious business. Then it all depends on the kind of business. Keeps head shaved clean.
  • Affectation: Always wears a cheap plastic pin of a noodle cup instant meal (favourites are from brands gone for decades or fake brands), collects them, swaps them out, moves them around where he pins them. Only wears one at a time. Some are the size of a lapel pin. Some are outsize flash.
  • Value: Vengeance? Nah. It's just karma, consequences, reaping what ye sew.
  • People: Are vermin, obstacles, tools (so lonely). So why are you helping the freenets? I want to be an obstacle too. You're not kidding anyone.
  • Person: a dream phantom, an impossible ideal, poetry personified
  • Thing: Letters, photo album, scrapbook from family before the Purge.
  • Family: corporate executives, before they were purged
  • Environment: nomad pack (fostered by “cousins” after the purge
  • Background: Family members held multiple directorships, c-suite positions, public offices,  but were betrayed, systematically targeted by medias, framed and thrown under the bus, murdered in their homes and gunned down on the street, disappeared, or imprisoned. Grew up fostered by a nomad clan the family (49 crew, land, shipment protection, family business, honest concern, problem with organized crime) hoisted him off to when the Purge came down. Distant, distant cousins.
  • Friends & Enemies: Has none of either, it’s been fifteen years since the Purge, and he keeps a low profile
  • Blowback: Wait for it. It’s all going to come back around.
  • Love: Unrequited infatuation for three missed opportunities, too glam, too high profile. Wouldn’t have worked. You could have made it work! No. They could never have lived this way.
  • Type: Freelancer for fun and money.
  • Workspace: Currently lives and works out of a spartan 3m×3m utilitarian grey concrete cube on the 48th (of 80) floor of a "prestigious modern luxury mid-rise in the exciting and glamourous" GTHBRA sprawl. Bugout bag not exactly by the door but not not by the door either.
  • Clients: Does cleanups, patching, hardening, hacks, encryption, for locals. Picks up leads from the freenets but has a corporate contact who is always trying to entice him in but spoons out odd jobs. Supports the anarchist freenets propping them up and hardening them against constant attacks.
